Quatse River Hatchery, Campbell River, BCThe Northern Vancouver Island Salmonid Enhancement Association is a non profit society that was registered in British Columbia in 1982. For almost 30 years, the society has consistently carried out its primary purpose of enhancing salmonid populations and habitat on northern Vancouver Island. This role has included fish production, habitat enhancement, environmental monitoring, public education and community involvement.

The society is overseen by a Board of Directors made up of volunteers from northern Vancouver Island communities. A staff of four maintains the primary responsibilities of the society, but their efforts are greatly assisted by numerous volunteers who contribute their time to fish production and habitat enhancement activities.
